
Hello again, today i would like to share with you all about what are programme that should choose for career development.(This post are suitable for a person that emphasize on career advancement )
Most of my friend comes to me ask me :"Ah Zhun ,Why you not choose ST-Microelectronic(a factory located at Muar Industrial Area) ,high salary le~(RM2.8K).easy for me to raise a fund to invest something with one year.After one year is pass,then you can resign lo! "haha!What a good question!But i have my own reason for that.
For you information ,I'm not just want to became a investor to achieving financial freedom,but at the same time i will do my best to improve my soft-skill(leadership[,team-working and interpersonal skill and communication skill) by applying a job that provide a platform for me to fulfill my aims to became a great businessman.
Here are 2 types of programmes that provides a great platforms for your to improve your soft skill
(P/s: Normally all company confirmed to provide training for those fresh graduate students.But in other case,if you also want to involve in a new industrial that you prefer to explorer besides improve your soft-skill,Then you should look at this 2 types of programmes)
- Management Trainee Programme
- Government Linked Training Programme (For example: IMGLAD)
- The main reasons for MT programmes are generally to nurture and groom graduates based on a company’s values and direction, with the ultimate goal of the MT's growing meaningfully and contributing back to the organization.
- Some programmes are designed specifically for a department within an organization.This means that the MT has been hired to undergo training through various divisions within the
department, eg cost accounting, management reporting, tax etc. Eventually after completion of the rotations, he or she will be permanently based in a selected department. - Selection process
- Selection of MTs is usually more comprehensive than standard graduate recruitment, with many stages ranging from one-to-one interviews; assessment centres; business case presentations; and psychometric, IQ,EQ and written tests. Candidates should come well prepared interm of mental because this kind of selection takes several hours. Normally questions or case study from assessment are highly confidential before revealing on assessment day.You cannot do anything on that situation.The main purpose of selction is to choose a person with good lesdership spirit,good comunication skill, good problem solving skill and others soft skill in general.But my advice for you is :Do you best to "promote yourself",then you will be more confident throughout the selection process.Here are an example of a Casino Management Trainee at Resort World Genting.

What to look for :
There are plenty of options out there and you need to be wise to choose a programme which will best suit you. Here are some of the points you should be looking out for and some questions to ask when considering an MT programme:
- The purpose: find a programme that suits you and is aligned to your personal goals as well. When you know you are working hard towards your personal goals, you will then automatically achieve the company’s goals as well.
- Reputation: how long has the programme been in existence? Is it well known and sought after? Do people talk about it? Is it with a reputable company?
- Career growth plan: does the company have a career
advancement plan for its staff? How serious is the company’s
vision and involvement or dedication in making the MT programme a success? - The structure: classroom, on-the job practical training through
rotations, mentor-ship, or buddy system? How will the structure complement your career and learning opportunities? - Scope: staying local is not good enough, especially in a business
world that is ‘shrinking’ given the rate of change of globalization.

Recently i apply for (IMGLAD programme) and manage to get it at end of May 2010.But due to internal management restructuring,then this IMGLAD is canceled at July 2010. Nevermind ,in the future,you just check up on Jobsteet.com to find it out!
